The polypropylene layer in our masks is hydrophobic, meaning it repels water. As such, the layer acts as a filter and helps trap the small particles transferred through airflow

The Government of Canada states the proper structure of a mask should include a middle layer of filter-type fabric, such as non-woven polypropylene fabric

Our masks are designed to adhere to these guidelines, and to keep you safe

Our 3-ply masks have two additional layers of non-woven fabric on either side

Our 4-ply masks have another layer of our non-woven fabric on the outside of the mask and gives us the unique ability to add depth to our colours

Yes! We are licensed by Health Canada and manufacture level 1, 2 and 3 disposable medical-grade masks with a melt-blown polypropylene layer!

We also offer non-medical masks that remain a protective choice for yourself and your loved ones. Be sure to filter your search when shopping if you are looking for a particular level of protection

As much as we love to give advice and offer the best customer service we can, we are not healthcare professionals who can provide "medical" advice. Therefore, we cannot give any instructions as to which masks are better to wear, for example going on a plane, since there are different ways to catch a virus and we do not want to be held accountable for recommending a mask over another. 

All our masks offer an excellent protection, but they have to be combined with other measures to lower the risk of getting infected.

Our masks are intended for single-use and are disposable

All of our masks are made with an inner layer of polypropylene fabric as recommended by the Government of Canada. Washing these masks may damage this protective layer and greatly reduce the protection the masks provide. Because of this, we cannot recommend washing them

Currently, there are no mask recycling programs available to consumers in Canada. We recommend you place soiled masks in general waste

The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Canadian Red Cross instruct you to discard your disposable mask after use in the following way:

1. Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before handling the mask

2. Grab the ear loops, avoid touching the mask

3. Discard mask in a garbage bin

4. Wash hands or use hand sanitizer after handling

Please consider cutting or breaking the ear loops when disposing of masks, this can help stop wildlife from getting tangled and trapped in our waste

There is no set amount of time for these masks, Health Canada recommends you replace your mask if it becomes wet, soiled or dirty

You may also want to replace your mask if you were in a densely populated areas (shopping centers) or between clients/customers if you have to be in close proximity. Consult your governing regulations if you have one (RMT, Nurses, Dentists…)

ASTM medical masks are intended as single use and should be disposed of after each use

Apart from our traditional adult sizes, we also offer 3-ply children’s masks. These are also a great fit for adults who find the adult sizing too large for them

We are able to change the ear loop sizing on our machines to make them bigger or smaller depending on your needs. When placing an order, please let us know if you would like bigger or smaller ear loops!

At the moment we do not operate a storefront and try to limit the amount of people entering our factory. We are sold primarily online and mail direct to our customers via Canada Post or other delivery service providers upon request

You can place an order online through our website and select free curbside pickup

If you prefer to make a purchase in person you can email sales@viralclean.ca with the items you would like and we can have them packaged up for you ahead of time. This ensures we have the items you are looking for in stock and reduces your wait time

Payments in person can be done by credit card only

We strive to have all orders out to Canada Post the day you place your order, with the exception of Sundays and Statutory holidays when Post Offices are closed

Every now and then some of our products might be on backorder. If your order contains one of these items, we will send you the items we do have in stock separately so you don’t have to wait. We try our best to fill backordered stock quickly and take note of the products we are running low on to avoid this. Wait time for a backordered item can range from a few days to up to 2 weeks

Because of the nature of the product we sell and sanitary reasons, we cannot accept any returns of any products sold on our website. Having a mask that includes a layer of polypropylene melt blown fabric is recommended by the Government of Canada. Every mask we make, whether it is medical or non-medical includes this layer of protective fabric
